Mission Statement

The mission of the Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Animal Control Unit is to enforce the state laws and county ordinances pertaining to animal control and management; educate the community in responsible pet ownership; and provide for the housing and care of homeless animals and coordinate their adoption with local rescue organizations, or their humane euthanization when adoption is not possible.

We are closed to the public on ALL City of Savannah holidays. Please refer to the Holiday Schedule for specific dates. On holidays, the Animal Control officers are available for emergency call outs only.
